Software Games in School

Playing software games in school has been a debate on whether it is effective or not.  From personal experience, I do believe it is useful in learning.  In my high school science classes we always used jeopardy to review for a test.  The game of jeopardy always reflected our study guides.  Playing jeopardy had to ease our minds while reviewing,  it also helped keep all the students engaged while learning. While observing in a class, students were having competitions on Quizlet Live. Each group had to answer 11 questions right, the first group to do it would win. It was competitive, but I did not see one student get upset or mad, it helped the students try harder on the next round. They were all having a great time like I did while playing jeopardy in high school. This helped students become more motivated and they were still learning or reviewing while doing it. I believe students should play software games in school, it is very beneficial.
